CHIPS (Consumer Health Information Program and Services) is sponsored by the County of Los Angeles Public Library and the Los Angeles County Harbor-UCLA Medical Center Library. The program is planned to help the general public achieve optimum health by providing current, accurate medical information and materials on request.

Collection:	The collection consists of health and medical materials in both English and Spanish. Included in this collection are books, popular magazines, professional journals, reference works, electronic resources, recorded books, videorecordings, government publications, newsletters, and pamphlet and clipping files.
Services:	Consumers may call, write, or email for health information or walk in to do their own research. Extended reference searches on health topics are available for both customers and health professionals. Interlibrary loan of medical journal articles from Harbor-UCLA Medical Center Library and other medical libraries in Southern California and beyond.
