History
Live Oak Library was founded in 1917. As the business areas along Live Oak Avenue were incorporated into the city of Arcadia, the library site moved eastward until it came to its current location in 1964 in an unincorporated area of Los Angeles County.

Collection
Live Oak Library's collection is primarily a popular reading collection with strong children's and AV collections. The library has over 55,487, including paperbacks and 44 magazine and newspaper titles. There are 4,592 audio tapes and compact disks, and 5,530 DVDs and video cassettes. The library has 16 shelves of Spanish language material and 35 shelves of Chinese language material.

Services
Services include two public computers, two children's computers, an online public access catalog, a computerized full-text magazine database, children's programs, and a coin-operated photocopier.

Facilities
The library is 2,890 square feet, with adult and children's sections. There is no meeting room.
