Frequently Asked Questions
Request a PIN at your local library or complete our online PIN form. What does the message "Privilege has Expired" mean? Your library card expires every three years. To reactivate your card visit your local library and verify your address and phone number. To check your library card expiration date, log in at the top of the screen (upper right-hand corner) and it will be displayed under your name. Why does my account say "User Blocked / Barred "? Library accounts that are “blocked” or “barred” may have fines/fees, overdue items or the address on the account needs to be verified. Please contact your local library to discuss your account. Can I get library notices by email instead of by mail? Yes, you can receive email notifications by updating your email address at your local County Library or using our online email form. Can I pay my fines / fees online? No, we do not have online payment at this time. Please visit any County Library to pay in cash or by check. Why do I have to enter my library card for every hold I place? If you log in at the top of the screen (upper right-hand corner) at the start of your session, you will remain logged in for the entire session and you will not have to renter your card number for every hold. Once you're logged in you will see your name at the top of the screen. Be sure to log out when you're finished. Can I change the default pick-up location for the holds I place? If you log in at the top of the screen (upper right-hand corner) at the beginning of your search, your local library will appear automatically each time you place a hold. If the library listed is not your library, contact your local library to make this change for you. How will I know when my hold is ready to pick up? How long will it take? You will receive a notice in the mail when your hold is ready for pick up. To receive email notifications update your email address at your local library or use our online email form. You can also check the status of your hold by logging into the catalog at the top of the screen (upper right-hand corner). Click on "My Account" and "Renew materials / Manage holds." Under "Holds" you will see if your hold is available for pick up or your number on the wait list. The time it takes the library to receive an item depends on a lot of factors including where the item is being shipped from and if there is a wait list. Continue to check your account online for fastest notification. How do I search for DVDs and videos? To search for both DVD and VHS, add the word VIDEORECORDING after your search term in the Quick Search box. Example: die hard videorecording. To search for either DVD or VHS use Advanced Search. On the Advanced Search page, scroll down to "Format" and choose "DVD" or "VHS." I haven't used the catalog before. How do I get started? Check out our Quick Start Guide. Your question isn't here? Call your local library or email us.
