Accessing Your Account Your account can be accessed by clicking Check My Account. You can then see what materials are checked out, renew materials, place and cancel holds and view any fees. You will need your 13-digit library card number and a PIN to access your account. When you log into your account at the top of the screen, you will see a date to renew your library card by, your library card will automatically expire every three years. Before it expires you should verify your information with your local library which will renew your card for another three years. Check Outs and Renewals All materials except magazines and circulating encyclopedias may be renewed three times if there are no outstanding holds on the item and if the material is not overdue. Materials should be renewed on or before the due date. Materials can be renewed in person at the library, by telephone or online.
Holds Registered borrowers of the County Public Library may place requests for most library materials. After searching the catalog for the material you want, click on the "Place Hold" link. You will then enter your 13-digit library card number and PIN. When your request arrives at your library, you can be notified by mail or email. You will have ten days to visit the library and check out the material. Fees The Library sends a reminder notice to the customer 14 days after the date the borrowed material was due to be returned. Twenty eight days after the due date, the Library sends a bill to the customer for the material. The bill requests that the customer either return the material and pay the overdue fees due or remit payment in full for the material. Charges for a lost or damaged item will depend on the replacement cost for the type of material borrowed. The standard replacement cost represents an average cost to replace an item and may not equal the "cover" price. Lost or damaged material replacements will be the cost of the material plus a $7.50 processing fee. The County Public Library uses a collection agency to secure unreturned materials and outstanding fees from customers who have not responded to the notices. A $15.00 fee is added to all accounts sent to the collection agency.
